SI Generals announce roster, schedule
The schedule and roster for the Southern Indiana Generals franchise of the Kentucky Basketball Developmental League was released this week.
The slate features six ‘home’ games to be held at South Central.
The Generals take on the Gamblers on April 27, the Thoroughbreds on May 18 and June 8, the Gamblers again on June 9 and the Express on June 16.
The games in June start at 7 p.m. while the others begin at 8.
There will also be a tournament at South Central on June 2, with a time to be announced.
The KBDL will hold playoffs on June 30 in Louisville, then the championship game will be July 1 in Estill, Ky.
Ticket prices are $7 for adults, $4 for students and children 4 and under are free. A season ticket is $20 for six home games.
The roster for the Generals features several recognizable names:
Craig Schoen (South Central H.S., Georgetown College), Brandon Jenkins (Louisville), Chad Schoen (Louisville, Georgetown), Lamont Roland (New Albany H.S., LSU), Perrin Johnson (Louisville), Brian Silverhorn (Georgetown), Chad Schweitzer (South Central H.S.), David Scott (Miami-Ohio), and Duane Lightfoot (Butler). Other players include Alonzo Evans (Cumberland), Kevin Reinhardt (Northern Kentucky), T.J. Kiesler (Spalding), Caleb Holcomb (Bellarmine) and Chris Lee (South Carolina St., Georgetown).
The squad is coached by South Central grad Scott Schoen.
The KBDL is a developmental minor league system built to develop and train young talent for the International Professional Basketball Leagues.
More than a dozen players from the league signed professional contracts with FIBA teams last season. The league uses International rules, such as a trapezoid lane.
