Delores J. Hinton

Delores Jane Hinton, 90, Georgetown, died Thursday, Feb. 22, 2007, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services in New Albany
Born Feb. 4, 1917, in Leitchfield, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Roscoe and Corda Ethel Burba Alvey.
She was a former employee of the old Charlestown ammunition plant, a 46-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 480 in Georgetown and a past member of the old Evangelical United Brethren Church in Georgetown, where she was a choir member.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Bennie Hinton; a daughter, Joyce Herthel; and three brothers, Jay, Everett and Loy Alvey.
Survivors include a son, Joseph E. Hinton; a sister, Pauline Haynes of Elizabethtown, Ky.; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Saturday, Feb. 24, from 5 to 9 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 25, from 1 to 9 p.m. and Monday, Feb. 26, after 9 a.m. at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Georgetown.
Funeral: Monday, Feb. 26, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with burial in Wolfe Cemetery in Georgetown.
Officiant: The Rev. Roy McClain.
Pallbearers: Terry, Allen, David, Michael and Jason Herthel and Brian Hinton.
The family suggests memorial gifts to the American Cancer Society in memory of Joyce Herthel.
