Corydon’s cheers to 200 years

Corydon’s cheers to 200 years Corydon’s cheers to 200 years

First I want to express appreciation to The Corydon Democrat for the support and enthusiasm in printing our Cheers to 200 Years! on a regular basis. All news and activities will be posted here for everyone to read. Just look for the logo and get caught up on all happenings.
The town is selling very neat and beautiful pins of the birthday logo for $3 each. You can buy these at the Corydon Town Hall. It would be great to see them on coats from now on. Also, Butt’s Drugs has nice long-sleeve T-shirts with the logo. They come in black or gray. All sizes. Get the word out by wearing those when working out at the Y or eating lunch at Lisa’s.
Also, the first and third Saturday of every month beginning with the third Saturday of February (the 17th) we will gather anecdotes for the Memory Archive. You can go to the Harrison County Public Library and relate your memory or experience in person to a representative of the Archive committee. Leah Porter (or someone like her) will be there between 1 and 3 p.m. to take these memories down and have fun discussing the particulars that will make it a personal story for all of us. We all have weather, sports, business, farming, family and, of course, crazy character stories about some of the notorious and colorful personalities who have lived amongst us. We want those written down and printed in a nice volume for the Kick Off Ball in 2008. Now is the time to start.
If you can’t make it to the library, e-mail works. Here is my e-mail for your convenience: [email protected] Please include name, address, phone number and your story. My address for regular mail is: Leah Porter, 326 S. Capitol Ave., Corydon, IN 47112.
I hope to be overwhelmed with responses soon!
