Rachel D. Peers

Rachel Dulette Peers, 90, New Albany, died Saturday, Feb. 10, 2007, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services in New Albany.
A native of Charleston, S.C., the former Rachel Dulette Bedenbaugh, she was a homemaker, a founding member of the New Albany Junior Women’s Club and a member of Centenary United Methodist Church in New Albany.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin W. Peers.
Survivors include six children, Judith Knoob of Lancaster, Calif., Patricia Monroe of Anaheim, Calif., Marlene Miller of Franklin, Michael L. Peers of New Albany, Kathy Lewis of Floyds Knobs and Jo Ellen Peers of Georgetown; a brother, Baxter Bedenbaugh of Charleston; 14 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Tuesday, Feb. 13, from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Oak Street Chapel of Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Homes in New Albany.
Funeral: Wednesday, Feb. 14, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home followed by private interment.
The family suggests memorial gifts to Hospice of Southern Indiana.
