Lloyd K. Whitworth


Lloyd K. Whitworth, 83, Taswell, died Sunday, Jan. 28, 2007, at 7 a.m. at his home.
Born May 20, 1923, in New Albany, he was the son of the late Ezra and Elizabeth Basham Whitworth.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II, a retired woodworker and a member of English Wesleyan Church.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, three brothers and a granddaughter.
Survivors include his wife, the former Lucille L. Luff; five sons, Michael Whitworth of Jeffersonville, Dennis and Joe Whitworth, both of New Albany, Greg Whitworth of Eckerty and Tim Whitworth of Greenville; four daughters, Janice Lucy of Milltown, Judith Daniel of Sellersburg, Susan Elliott of Henryville and April Glover of New Albany; a brother, Earl Whitworth of New Salisbury; 23 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Visitation: Tuesday, Jan. 30, from 4 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, Jan. 31, after 9 a.m. at Brown-Newkirk Funeral Home in Milltown.
Funeral: Wednesday, Jan. 31, at noon at the funeral home followed by burial in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany.
Officiants: The Revs. Monty Mahoney and Doug Byrum.
