M. Lucille Simmons

Mildred Lucille Simmons, 84, Elizabeth, died Thursday, Jan. 18, 2007, at her home.
Born Jan. 26, 1922, at Evans Landing, she was the daughter of the late George E. and Lena Brown.
She was a homemaker, a former employee of the old Duffy’s restaurant in New Albany and a member of Evans Landing Church.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Willard (Bill) Simmons; three sons, Olen W. (Butch), George and Sherman Simmons; a daughter, Marilyn Lisa Simmons; and two grandsons, Jordan and Alex Simmons.
Survivors include a son, David Simmons of Elizabeth; eight daughters, Katrina Heitkemper, Carmen L. Haag, Margaret S. Simmons, Billie R. Simmons and Diane Simmons, all of Elizabeth, Ann Bowling of Greenville, and Linda Martin and Rhonda Babcock, both of New Albany; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Monday, Jan. 22, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Market Street Chapel of Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Homes in New Albany.
Funeral: Monday, Jan. 22, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with interment at Evans Landing Cemetery at Elizabeth.
The family suggests memorial gifts to American Diabetes Association, Vista Care Hospice or Evans Landing Cemetery Foundation.
