Jesse J. Shireman
Jesse James Shireman, 75, Biloxi, Miss., died Tuesday morning, Jan. 9, 2007, at his home.
A native of Corydon and a resident of Biloxi since 1966, he was a builder and painter, a veteran of the Air Force and a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church.
He spent much of his life helping to rebuild the Coast after two catastrophic hurricanes, first Camille and, most recently, Katrina. according to the Jan. 11 edition of The Sun Herald newspaper.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, the former Shirley Fleace; a son, Steven Shireman of Biloxi; five daughters, Jane Ann Meriwether, Judy Gifford and Diane Purser, all of Biloxi, Jody Riley of Panama and Mary Beth Gillespie of Twin Cities, Minn.; a brother, Warren E. Shireman of Gulfport, Miss.; 11 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Graveside service: Friday, Jan. 12, at Biloxi National Cemetery.
