Harrell E. Sorrels

Harrell E. Sorrels, 74, New Albany, died Sunday, Jan. 7, 2007, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services in New Albany.
Born Aug. 4, 1932, in Horse Branch, Ky., the son of the late Eugene and Pearl Crabtree Sorrels.
He retired from Paramount Foods in 1994 and was a member of American Legion Bonnie Sloan Post 28 in New Albany.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Elizabeth G. Dirth.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Ella Bishop Sorrels; two sons, Harrell Ray Sorrels of Clarksville and Ed Sorrels of New Albany; three daughters, Patricia Morgan of Elizabeth, Sandra Geary of Clarksville and Johnny Ashby of Booneville; eight brothers; five sisters; 13 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Tuesday, Jan. 9, from 2 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday, Jan. 10, after 9 a.m. at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Georgetown.
Funeral: Wednesday, Jan. 10, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home followed by burial at Wolfe Cemetery in Georgetown.
Officiants: The Revs. Russell Lievers and Tom Evitts.
Pallbearers: Harrell Ray, Ed and Kevin Sorrels, Loy Morgan, Larry Geary and Brent Aldrich.
