Elmer R. Curts

Elmer Raymond Curts, 83, Corydon, died Friday, Jan. 5, 2007, at Green Valley Care Center in New Albany.
A native of Harrison County, he was born Jan. 24, 1923, to the late Elmer and Nellie Cunningham Curts. He was the superintendent of the Harrison County Fairgrounds for 20 years, was a former employee of Keller Manufacturing co. in Corydon and was a farmer.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, John F. Curts; his sister, Annis Curts; and his brother, Cleo Curts.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, the former Josephine Ripperdan; a son, Billy J. Curts (Sue) of Corydon; a daughter, Sharon K. Martin (Jerry) of Corydon; three grandchildren, Susan Gondolfi and Jimmy and Mike Martin; and eight great-grandchildren, Codey and Curtis Kelly, Kyle, Ashley, Jesse Raymond, Kessler and Keely Martin, and Braidon Pendelton.
Visitation: Saturday, Jan. 6, from 5 to 8 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 7, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Monday, Jan. 8, after 9 a.m. at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Monday, Jan 8, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery near Corydon.
Officiant: The Rev. Betty Ann Garrett.
Pallbearers: Dave Schrader, Paul Beckort, Paul Binkley, Donald Leffler, Codey and Curtis Kelly, and Mike and Jimmy Martin.
The family suggests memorial gifts to Oak Grove Cemetery.
