Donald E. Schiery Sr.

Donald E. Schiery Sr., 75, Leavenworth, died Monday, Dec. 25, 2006, at 10:30 a.m. at his home.
Born Dec. 21, 1931, in Rossville, he was the son of the late Kenneth Paul and Garnett M. Fensteamaker Schiery.
He was the crew chief of the custodial department at Purdue University, a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church and the VFW post in Corydon, and an Army veteran from 1952 to 1960 who served in Korea.
Survivors include three sons, Kenneth Wayne Schiery of Prymont, David E. Schiery of Romney and Donald Schiery Jr. of Marengo; a daughter, Diana K. Holloway of Texas; three sisters, LeVun Stewart of California, Marilyn Cline of Nappanee and Mary Thompson of Thorntown; three brothers, Charles Schiery of Mulberry, and Raymond Schiery and Jerret Schiery, both of Rossville; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and his former wife, Mary Livengood Porter, who cared for him.
Visitation: Thursday, Dec. 28, from 3 to 7 p.m. and Friday, Dec. 29, after 9:30 a.m.
Funeral: Friday, Dec. 29, at 10:30 a.m. at Bodine Funeral Home in Mulberry with burial and military rites in Fair Haven Cemetery.
Officiant: Pastor Michael Crawford.
