Viola C. Sprigler

Viola C. Sprigler, 88, Floyds Knobs, died Wednesday morning, Dec. 20, 2006, at the home of one of her sons.
Born March 19, 1918, in Floyds Knobs, she was the daughter of the late John and Carrie Hanka Andres.
She was formerly a waitress at Cliff’s Truck Stop and South Side Inn restaurants and a longtime farmer of market produce.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leo M. Sprigler; a brother, Cletus Andres; a grandson, John Geary Jr.; and a great-grandson, Zachary Fry.
Survivors include two sons, Richard Sprigler of Sellersburg and Melvin (Butch) Sprigler of Floyds Knobs; a daughter, Sherry Geary of Greenville; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Tuesday, Dec. 26, from 2 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday, Dec. 27, after 9 a.m. at Generations Funeral Home in New Albany.
Funeral: Wednesday, Dec. 27, at 10 a.m. at Holy Family Church followed by burial in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in New Albany.
The family suggests memorial gifts to St. Jude Research Hospital.
