Selby S. Wright

Selby S. Wright, New Albany, died Sunday, Dec. 3, 2006, at Autumn Woods Health Campus in New Albany.
A native of Tennessee, he was a retired safety engineer with the former Security Insurance Co. in Louisville, a Navy veteran and a former national champion in several rifle shooting competitions. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, National Benchrest Shooters Association, American Rifle Association and the Wood Township Conservation Club in Borden.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Wright.
Survivors include his wife, Louise Swift Wright; four sons, Jerry and Joe Wright, both of Hemet, Calif., Travis Wright of San Bernadino, Calif., and Stan Wright of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; and three sisters, Clara Wallbaum and Edith Linney, both of New Albany, and Cora Smith of Clarksville.
Visitation: Sunday, Dec. 10, from 2 to 8 p.m. and after Monday, Dec. 11, after 10 a.m. at Kraft Funeral Service, Charlestown Road, in New Albany.
Funeral: Monday, Dec. 11, at noon at the funeral home with cremation to follow. His cremains will be placed at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park Chapel of Memories.
