Melba R. Carter

Melba R. Carter, 53, Lanesville, died Friday, Dec. 1, 2006, at her home.
Born June 23, 1953, in Harrison County, she was the daughter of Paul H. and Clematine L. Schoen Schneider of Lanesville.
She was an employee of the Lanesville Post Office for 32 years, a campsite coordinator and member of the Lanesville Heritage Committee, and a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church near Lanesville and the Lincoln Trail Antique Power of the Past in Brandenburg.
Survivors besides her parents include her husband, Joseph A. Carter; three sons, Jeremy Albers of Corydon and Justin and Nathan Stilger, both of Lanesville; two daughters, Toni Albers of Springfield, Ohio, and Tina Mitchell of Hardinsburg; a stepson, Joseph T. Carter of Georgetown; three brothers, Keith Schneider of Springfield, Va., Barry Schneider of Franklin, Tenn., and Glenn Schneider of Lanesville; two sisters, Joann Rakestraw and Rita Brewington, both of Corydon; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral: Tuesday, Dec. 5, at 11 a.m. at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon with burial in St. John’s Cemetery near Lanesville.
Officiant: Pastor Christopher A. Truelson.
Organist: Parvin Lambertus.
Pallbearers: Jason, Travis, Zac, Troy and Todd Schneider, Greg Rakestraw, Robert Baker, Frank Engleman, Donnie Eurton, and Clinton and Chad Schneider.
