Robert J. James

Robert J. (Bobby) James, 51, Georgetown, died Friday, Nov. 17, 2006, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services in New Albany.
He was a Farmer’s Insurance agent, former owner of Ace Video in Georgetown, and former agent and regional manager with Monumental Life Insurance Co., where he was a million-dollar producer in his first year. He was past president of the New Albany Lions Club, past district governor for District 25 E2 Lions Club and a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity.
He was preceded in death by his father, William J. James.
Survivors include his wife, Geni Singleton James; a son, William Joseph James III; a daughter, Sally James; his mother, Betty Jo Griffin James; and two brothers, Donald W. and Dennis L. James.
Visitation: Monday, Nov. 20, from 2 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday, Nov. 21, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Oak Street Chapel for Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Homes.
Funeral: Tuesday, Nov. 21, at 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorial gifts to the Lions Club, Floyd County Animal Shelter or the Lymphadema Foundation.
