John Gentle Jr.

John Herbert Gentle Jr., 66, Franklin, died Sunday, Nov. 12, 2006, at 9:15 a.m. at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born Oct. 4, 1940, in Indianapolis, he was the son of the late John Herbert and Regina Keen Gentle.
He was a 1958 graduate of Edinburgh High School, attended Indiana University, and was a 22-year sales representative of the old Como Plastics, a sales representative for R & R Technologies in Edinburgh and retired from MAG Industries at Mooresville. He was a member of St. George Lutheran Church in Edinburgh, Franklin Order of Eastern Star 439, Indianapolis Valley of Scottish Rite and Edinburgh Masonic Lodge 100, where he was past worshipful master.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, the former Sharon Rooksby; a son, John Herbert Gentle III of Bloomington; a daughter, Kristin K. Gentle of Franklin; and a sister, Jane David of Reedsport, Ore.
Visitation: Wednesday, Nov. 15, after 10 a.m. at St. George Lutheran Church.
Funeral: Wednesday, Nov. 15, at 11 a.m. at the church followed by burial at St. George Cemetery. Officiant: The Rev. Jerry Curry.
The family suggests memorial gifts to St. George Lutheran Church or the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.
