Ernie O. Walton

Ernie O. Walton, 82, Paoli, died Sunday, Oct. 29, 2006, at 8 p.m. at his home.
Born March 12, 1924, in Paoli, he was the son of the late Ollie Walton and Alta Bennett Walton.
He was a retired farmer and school bus driver for the Paoli School Corp., a member of Newton Stewart Masonic Lodge 432, the Paoli and English Senior Citizens, and Southeast and Greenfield Farm bureaus, and a Navy veteran of World War II.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Marvin D. Walton, and a grandson, Matthew Todd Pritchard.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, the former Rebecca E. Newlin; eight daughters, Linda Shockley of Alvarado, Texas, Diane Scott, Wanda Dupuis, Janet Eastridge, Patricia Buchanan, Mary Walton and Donna Hill, all of Paoli, and Betty Eastridge of English; two sons, Ernie R. Walton of Marengo and Douglas Walton of Paoli; 39 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Tuesday, Oct. 31, from 5 to 9 p.m. at McAdams Mortuary in Paoli.
Masonic service: Tuesday, Oct. 31, at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral: Wednesday, Nov. 1, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with burial in Providence Cemetery in Paoli.
Officiants: Brothers Mike Chastain and Kevin Pritchard.
