Lona A. McCutcheon Deaton, 86, died Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2006, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services in New Albany.
Born May 21, 1920, near Depauw, she was the daughter of the late George Washington and Ella Florence Stonecipher McCutcheon.
She was a member of the Hectic Households Extension Homemakers and Blue River Church of Christ, and was a former employee of the Indiana Ammunitions Plant in Charlestown, Traveler’s Radio & TV in Orleans, Green Acres in Marengo and HA Seinshimers Co. in New Albany.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Waldo F. Deaton; a daughter, Beverly Ann Deaton; and a sister, Olive McCutcheon.
Survivors include four daughters, Loretta Byrne of Ramsey, Connie Bailey of McCordsville; Selina Rushton of Indianapolis and Rebecca Knogge of Noblesville; two sons, Michael F. Deaton of Depauw and Larry W. Deaton of New Salisbury; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral: Saturday, Oct. 21, at Swarens Funeral Home in Ramsey with burial in Blue River Church of Christ Cemetery in Depauw.
Officiant: Brother Rick Utz.
The family suggests memorial gifts to the Blue River Church of Christ Cemetery or Northwest Christian Church.
