L. Bryce Whitson
L. Bryce Whitson, 74, New Albany, died Monday, Oct. 23, 2006, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services in New Albany.
Born in Clark County, he retired as a major after 23 years in the Army. He was a former department head of the New Albany Sanitation Dept. and a member of DePauw Memorial United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Dee Rough Whitson; four sons, Gary B. and Gerry B. Whitson, both of Jeffersonville, Greg B. Whitson of Clarksville and L. Bryce Whitson Jr. of New Albany; four stepsons, Chris and Todd Rough, both of Floyds Knobs, and Tony and Jimmy Hartman, both of Clarksville; a brother, Dale Whitson of Galena; two sisters, Helen Holstner of New Albany and Linda Cook of Oklahoma; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Visitation: Wednesday, Oct. 25, from noon to 8 p.m. at the Market Street Chapel/Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Homes in New Albany and Thursday, Oct. 26, after 9 a.m. tomorrow at DePauw Memorial United Methodist Church.
Funeral: Thursday, Oct. 26, at 10 a.m. at the church followed by interment at SCI-Graceland Memorial Park.
