James Kay Hollcroft Jr.

James Kay (Jim or J.K.) Hollcroft Jr., 82, Louisville, died Wednesday, October 18, 2006, at Baptist East Hospital in Louisville.
Born in Leavenworth, he was a retired teacher with Ivy Tech at the old Jeffersonville location and at Sellersburg. He previously was a mechanic and service writer for Koster Swope, Hannah Motors and Metropolitan-Lincoln Mercury.’He had been a sprint car race driver, a member of the Antique Automobile Club of America and was a Methodist.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Blanche and James Kay Hollcroft Sr., and a stepson, Ray M. Alexander.
Survivors include his wife and caregiver of 44 years, the former Norma V. Kitterman Rainbolt Alexander; a stepson, Gregory A. Rainbolt; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral: Sunday, Oct. 22, at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon with burial in Cedar Cemetery in Leavenworth.
Officiant: The Rev. Dennis Brinkworth.
Pallbearers: Jason and James Alexander, Ryc Davis, Bill Gerdon, Steve Mauk and Chester Johnson.
The family suggests memorial gifts to Perseverance United Methodist Church.
