Edmund Phieler

Edmund Phieler, 77, Lanesville, died Thursday evening, Sept. 14, 2006, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services in New Albany.
A native of Locust Point, Ky., born March 13, 1929, he was the son of the late George Jr. and Mossie Baker Phieler.
He was an Army veteran of the Korean war, a retired case packer at Reynolds Metals in Louisville and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, the former Elsie Meyer of Lanesville; five sons, David Phieler of McKinney, Texas, Michael Phieler of Lanesville, Gary Phieler of Greenwood, Glenn Phieler of New Albany and Kevin Phieler of Indianapolis; three daughters, Jacqueline Phieler of Lanesville, Betty Conklin of Bloomington and Kathleen Exline of Evansville; and seven grandchildren.
Prayer service: Sunday, Sept. 17, at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon.
Mass of Christian burial: Monday, Sept. 18, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery.
Celebrant: Father Harold Ripperger.
The family suggests memorial gifts to the Harrison County Animal Control Facility.
