W. Ray Gibson

W. Ray Gibson, 83, English, died at 12:18 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 2, 2006, at Jewish Hospital in Leavenworth.
A native of Leavenworth, born July 10, 1923, he was the son of the late Walter B. Gibson and Gertrude Pruitt.
An Army veteran of World War II, he retired from Ford Motor Co. in 1976, and was a member of New Salisbury Full Gospel Church.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Peabody.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, the former Marian Cox; a daughter, Donna Rae Mills of French Lick; a son, Kent Douglas Gibson of Albuquerque, N.M.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Tuesday, Sept. 5, from 4 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday, Sept. 6, after 9 a.m. at Dillman-Green Funeral Home in Marengo.
Funeral: Wednesday, Sept. 6, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
Officiant: The Rev. Philo Jones.
