Edith L. Jenkins

Edith L. Jones Jenkins, 79, Georgetown, formerly of Depauw, died Saturday, Aug. 26, 2006, at her home.
A native of Marengo, born Nov. 16, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Henry Wilbur and Letty L. Funk Jones.
She was a retired cartographic aide for the U.S. Census Bureau in Jeffersonville and a member of Victory Baptist Church in New Salisbury.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harley T. Jenkins Sr.; a daughter, Carolyn Jenkins; two brothers, Wib and Bob Jones; and two sisters, Geneva Kinney and Rowena Fess.
Survivors include two sons, Harley T. Jenkins Jr. of Brandenburg and Brian P. Jenkins of Cambridge City; five daughters, Marilyn Daugherty of Clarksville, Sharon Bridges of Otisco, Judith Carrier of Georgetown, Dorothy Satterfield of Depauw and Karen Jones of New Albany; a brother, Phillip Jones of Big Bear, Calif.; 17 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Monday, Aug. 28, from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 29, from 1 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday, Aug. 30, after 8 a.m. at Swarens Funeral Home in Ramsey.
Funeral: Wednesday, Aug. 30, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with burial in Mount Zion Cemetery in Depauw.
Officiant: Pastor Philip Masters.
Pallbearers: Josh Daugherty, Matthew Bridges, Jason Carrier, Tommy Jenkins, Phillip Jenkins and Allen Satterfield.
