Frank Berlin, 88, Louisville, formerly of New Albany, died Saturday, July 29, 2006, of complications from pneumonia at Norton’s Suburban Hospital in Louisville.
A native of Hodgenville, Ky., he owned and operated Berlin & Son Dept. Store in Louisville from 1946 to 1975, and Berlin’s Clothing Store in Corydon for 10 years prior to retiring in 1985.
He was a former board member of Keneseth Israel Synagogue, an officer of the local SCORE chapter and a member of Rotary International.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, the former Frieda Bieser; a son, Mark Berlin of Potomac, Md.; a daughter, JoAnne Sloss of Mill Valley, Calif.; and two grandsons.
Funeral: Monday, July 31, at Herman Meyer & Son Funeral Home in Louisville with burial in Keneseth Israel Cemetery.
The family suggests memorial gifts to Keneseth Israel Synagogue.
