Paul F. Kraft Sr.
Paul Frederick Kraft Sr., 79, New Albany, died Sunday, Aug. 6, 2006.
Born Aug. 8, 1926, he was the founder of Generations Funeral Home in New Albany, as well as former owner and operator of Georgia A. Kraft Funeral Home and Kraft Graceland Memorial Park. He was a member of Indiana Funeral Directors Association and National Funeral Directors Association.
He was an Army veteran of World War II, and a member of VFW Post 1693, American Legion Bonnie Sloan Post 28, BPOE 270 and Cardinal Ritter Council 1221 of the Knights of Columbus. He was an affiliate member of Conventual Franciscan Friars Province of Our Lady of Consolation, former member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Navilleton and a lifelong member of St. Mary of the Annunciation Catholic Church in New Albany. In addition, he was a founding member and first director emeritus of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Tutfed Titmice and Green-Eyed Spider Watchers of America Inc.
Survivors include eight children, Paul Jr., Charles, George, Robert, Joseph, John and Kurt Kraft, and Nancy Kraft Molnar; a sister, Anna Kraft Sadtler; 23 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and Marilyn Christiansen and Margaret Smith, whom cared for him.
Visitation: Wednesday, Aug. 9, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. with a prayer service at noon at Generations Funeral Home in New Albany.
Funeral Mass: Thursday, Aug. 10, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in New Albany with burial in the church cemetery.
