Carlos E. Howard
Carlos Edward Howard, 63, Elizabeth, died Thursday, Aug. 3, 2006, at the VA Medical Center in Louisville.
He was a native of Davie, W.Va., a welder by trade and a member of Iron Workers Local 70 in Louisville.
He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of American Legion Hornickel Post in Elizabeth.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Kathleen Stanley and Lola Mullis.
Survivors include his wife, the former Dorothy Sprayberry; two daughters, Patricia Driver of Greenville and Carla Veirs of Sellersburg; two stepsons, Paul and Lloyd Saltsgaver, both of Elizabeth; a stepdaughter, Patricia Saltsgaver of Elizabeth; six brothers, Dotson, James, Johnny and Jack Riffe, all of Jefferson, Ga., Eugene Riffe of Elken, W.Va., and Jack Riffe of Premier, W.Va.; three sisters, Cassie Sizemore of Yadkinville, N.C., Mae Riffe of Elken and Irene Brown of Booneville, N.C.; and 11 grandchildren.
Funeral: Monday, Aug. 7, at 1 p.m. at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon with burial in Bethesda Cemetery in Elizabeth.
