Vincent A. Ott

Vincent A. Ott, 87, Georgetown, died at his home Sunday evening, July 16, 2006.
A native of Georgetown, born July 14, 1919, he was the son of the late William J. and Fannie Mary Eve Ott.
He was a retired dairy farmer and member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lanesville and Knights of Columbus Pope John Paul II Council 1808, and was past president and director of the Floyd County Farm Bureau. He was a supervisor for the Floyd County Soil & Water Conservation, and a director of the Harrison County REMC Hoosier Energy/Harrison/Floyd Farm Bureau Cooperative and Floyd County Extension Service.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William Ott; two sisters, Irma Loew and Viola Kiesler; and a great-grandson.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, the former Mary Jane Bezy; a daughter, Clara C. Hopper of Georgetown; two brothers, Carl F. Ott of Lanesville and Cletus W. Ott of Georgetown; a sister, Marie Elmer of New Albany; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Visitation: Wednesday, July 19, from 3 to 8 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:30 p.m. at Generations Funeral Home in New Albany.
Funeral Mass: Thursday, July 20, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery.
The family suggests memorial gifts to the Conventional Franciscan Retirement Fund or Hospice and Palliative Care of Southern Indiana.
