George A. Lofton

George A. Lofton, 84, Lanesville, died Monday, July 3, 2006, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services in New Albany.
A native of Harrison County, born June 21, 1922, he was the son of the late Nathan and Mary Wernert Lofton.
He retired from Paramount Plywood in New Albany, was an Air Force veteran of World War II and was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church near Lanesville.
He was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Sandra Rue.
Survivors include his wife, the former Geneva Schneider; two stepdaughters, Connie Burgin of New Albany and Sharon Huber of Lanesville; a brother, Roy D. Lofton of Jacksonville, Fla.; and several stepgrandchildren.
Funeral: Thursday, July 6, at St. John’s Lutheran Church near Lanesville with burial in the church cemetery.
Arrangements: Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.
Pallbearers: Mark Lewis, Jeff Rue, Gene Stewart, Doug Anderson and Nick Adkins.
The family suggests memorial gifts to Hospice and Palliative Care of Southern Indiana or St. John’s Lutheran Church Building on Faith Fund.
