Philip R. Paris Sr.

Philip R. Paris Sr., 77, Georgetown, died Thursday, June 22, 2006, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services in New Albany.
A native of New Amsterdam, born April 29, 1929, he was the son of the late William Hardwick and Ruth Lee Bell Lowe.
He was a retired diesel mechanic for Local 89 Avis Truck Leasing in Louisville and Mailbus Postal Service Inc. in Atlanta, Ga. He was an Army veteran in the Korean Era, and a member of Teamsters Local 89 in Louisville, American Legion Post Bonnie Sloan and the VFW in New Albany.
Survivors include his wife, the former Betty Higginbotham; two sons, Philip R. Paris Jr. of Floyds Knobs and Don Paris of Georgetown; two daughters, Theresa Downs and Patty Christensen, both of Georgetown; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral: Sunday, June 25, at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Georgetown.
Officiant: Chaplain Lenne Keithley II.
