Ray Peabody, 80, Leavenworth, died Wednesday, May 24, 2006, at Harrison County Hospital in Corydon.
A native of Fredonia, born Oct. 12, 1925, he was a riverboat captain for R & W Marine and retired from Midland Enterprise in Paducah, Ky.’
Survivors include his wife, the former Reba Gibson; three sons, Terry Peabody of Calhoun, Ky., Carl Peabody of Ramsey and Dwight Peabody of Leavenworth; two daughters, Christie Niehaus of Evansville and Connie Adams of Hendersonville, Tenn.; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Friday, May 26, from 4 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, May 27, after 9 a.m. at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Saturday, May 27, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in Leavenworth Memorial Gardens.
Officiant: The Rev. Lanny Amy.
Pallbearers: His sons and grandsons.
Honorary pallbearer: Evan Peabody.
