Fairy Loftus

Fairy (Dee) Seipel Loftus, 95, New Albany, formerly of Tamarac, Fla., died Wednesday, May 17, 2006, at Providence Retirement Home in New Albany.
Born Nov. 25, 1910, she was the daughter of the late John and Laura Theo Weaver Seipel, formerly of Dogwood.
She was a graduate of Central Normal College in Danville, attended Indiana University, and taught in the New Albany School system. She was a member of Louisville China Painting Guild and a charter member and president of Hoosiers China Painting Guild. She was a former member of Central Christian Church in New Albany
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Wilbur L. (Red) Loftus; four brothers, Arvil, William, John and Vilas Seipel; and two sisters, Eleva Liebert and Clara Perslin.
She reared a nephew, Louis Peak of New Albany, and two nieces, LaVerne Tracy of California, and the late Anne Mae Peak.
Survivors include nieces and nephews, including Louis Peak and Trudy of New Albany, who cared for her.
Visitation: Friday, May 26, from 1 to 8 p.m. at Kraft Funeral Home in New Albany.
Funeral: Saturday, May 27, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with burial in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
The family suggests memorial gift to Providence Retirement Home.
