Cpl. Michael C. Kaufer

Cpl. Michael C. Kaufer, USMC, 21, Corydon, died Sunday, May 14, 2006, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Onslow County, N.C.
A native of Corydon, born Oct. 4, 1984, he was the son of Mark Steven Kaufer and Jeanne Wilson Walter.
He was a 2003 graduate of Lanesville Junior-Senior High School and enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps on July 27, 2003.
He was preceded in death by two grandfathers, William Wilson and Harold Welch.
Survivors besides his parents include a brother, Jack (Bubby) Kaufer; three sisters, Leslie Marie and Kayla Ann Kaufer, and Robin Corina Rosenbury; stepparents, Tom Walter, Leigh (Momma) Kaufer; fiancee Kiley Danielle Hankins; and grandparents, John Ervin Kaufer, Barbara Ann Knepper and Virginia Welch.
Visitation: Saturday, May 20, from noon to 7 p.m., Sunday, May 21, from 1 to 6 p.m. and Monday, May 22, after 9 a.m. at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Monday, May 22, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
