Polls readied for May 2 primary
Last-minute details are being handled in preparation of the May 2 Primary.
Harrison County Circuit Clerk Sherry Brown said the required testing of the voting machines was conducted yesterday (Tuesday), and a glitch on the ballots will be dealt with on election day. Brown said the company that printed the ballots placed a box to be used by poll workers on the back of the ballot rather than the front as requested.
Absentee voting is underway, with the clerk’s office open the next two Saturdays, April 22 and 29, to allow voting by persons who will not be able to get to their normal polling place on May 2. Brown said the office will be open from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
