NH golfers roll to wins
The more scores that keep coming in, the more depth it appears North Harrison’s boys golf team possesses.
On April 17, the Cougars won a four-way meet against Crawford County, West Washington and Perry Central; and on April 13, North defeated Scottsburg, Restoration Christian and Austin.
Both matches featured a different medalist for the Cougars, with Matt Bruce carding a two-over par 38 at Old English in the 4-way and Michael Rigot cracking off an even-par round of 34 at New Salisbury.
In the April 17 match, Cole Duffy marked a 40, Joey Thompson had a 41 and Ryan Boone fired a 43 for the Cougars.
North shot a 162, followed by Crawford (165), West Washington (178) and Perry Central (199).
Crawford’s low man was Jones, who had a 39.
With the win, North pushed its record to 10-0 and 4-0 in the Mid-Southern Conference.
Kyle Mattingly shot a 35, Thompson had a 36 and Bruce added a 37 for North’s victory on April 13.
The Cougars shot a 142, which was a whopping 40 strokes better than Scottsburg (182).
Restoration Christian was third with a 198, followed by Austin (202).
On April 12 at the par-36 Chariot Run Golf Course in Elizabeth, North defeated Silver Creek, 150-163.
Bruce shot a two-under 34, Boone had a 37, Mattingly marked a 38 and Rigot had a 41.
