Albert J. Nordhoff, 73, New Salisbury, died Tuesday evening, March 14, 2006, at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville.
A native of Louisville, born Oct. 4, 1932, he was the son of the late Albert C. and Philomena Gadlage Nordhoff.
He was a retired planner for the old Naval Ordnance in Louisville, an Army veteran of the Korean War, and a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Bradford and American Legion Post 42 in Floyds Knobs. He was an honorary life-member of the Knights of Columbus, Pope John Paul II Council 1808.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Rita C. Long.
Survivors include six brothers, Dennis L. Nordhoff of Franklin, Gerald F. Nordhoff of Bradford, Edward A. Nordhoff of Barboursville, W.Va., Paul A. Nordhoff of Palmyra, and Ralph B. and Charles F. Nordhoff, both of Georgetown; and a sister, Mary Ann Savage of Louisville.
Prayer service: Thursday, March 16, at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Georgetown.
Funeral Mass: Friday, March 17, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Bradford with burial in the church cemetery.
Officiant: Father John Fink.
Pallbearers: Bob Heil and Eddie, Albert, Jerry, Michael and Dennis Nordhoff.
