Beaven tabbed as the best frosh in Great Lakes Valley

Bellarmine University freshman and Corydon Central graduate Dana Beaven was tabbed Freshman Of The Year for the Great Lakes Valley Conference last week.
Beaven started 26 of 28 games this season and was second on the team in scoring at 11.6 ppg.
She shot a tick over 48 percent from the field, 47 percent on threes and 84 percent on free throws. She finished the season as the team’s leading rebounder at 6.4 a game, had 44 assists, 13 blocked shots and 29 steals.
Beaven helped lead Corydon Central to a runner-up finish in the Class 3A state final in 2005.
Fellow Knight Angela Smith, a Floyd Central alum, was picked Second Team All-Conference as well.
