Clifford R. Schmidt, 72, New Salisbury, died Sunday, March 5, 2006, at Harrison County Hospital in Corydon.
A native of Huntingburg, born Nov. 14, 1933, he was the son of the late John H. and Pauline Winkler Schmidt.
He was a proprietor of the former Schmidt Wholesale in New Salisbury and a member of Palmyra United Methodist Church.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Gregory Schmidt, and an infant daughter.
Survivors include his wife, the former Jo Ann Martin; two sons, Bruce M. Schmidt of New Salisbury and Brian D. Schmidt of Depauw; a daughter, Marcia A. Pratt of Floyds Knobs; two brothers, Calvin Schmidt of New Salisbury and Oddas Schmidt of Ramsey; a sister, Joyce Cart of Corydon; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation: March 8 from 4 to 9 p.m. and March 9 after 9 a.m. at Swarens Funeral Home in Ramsey.
Funeral: March 9 at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in Marengo Cemetery.
Officiants: The Rev. W. Michael Roberts and Pastor Robert Wallace.
