Albert W. Bilbrey

Albert W. Bilbrey, 81, Georgetown, died Friday, Feb. 10, 2006, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services in New Albany.
A native of Louisville, born Nov. 3, 1924, he was the son of the late William J. and Myrtle K. Kessinger Bilbrey.
He was a Marine veteran of World War II, having served in the Pacific Theatre, and earned a Purple Heart, a Navy Cross and two Presidential Citations. He retired as a plant manager for the old Cardox Corp. in Clarksville and was a Baptist.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, the former Lois Jean Waddell; a son, Robert Bilbrey; a sister, Ann Bilbrey; and a granddaughter.
Survivors include three sons, Ray William Bilbrey of Georgetown, Richard Lee Bilbrey of Key Largo, Fla., and John Bilbrey of New Salisbury; a daughter, Barbara Henke of Kansas City, Kan.; a sister, Ruth Churchill of South Carolina; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral: Tuesday, Feb. 14, at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Georgetown with burial in Wolfe Cemetery.
Officiant: The Rev. Roebin Tyler.
Military rites: Performed at the grave site.
Pallbearers: Ray, Mark, Alex, Rick and Ryan Bilbrey and Criss Henke.
The family suggests memorial gifts to the American Cancer Society.
