Stephen E. McCafferty

Stephen Edward McCafferty, 62, Chillicothe, Ohio, formerly of New Albany, died Sunday, Jan. 15, 2006, at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Cincinnati.
A native of New Albany, he was born Dec. 25, 1943.
He retired as a food service worker for the VA Hospital and was a decorated Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
He was preceded in death by his mother, the former Wilma Timberlake.
Survivors include his wife, the former Carol J. Bonds; four daughters, Shawn Sickles, Kerry McCafferty and Kelly Vannoy, all of Indianapolis, and Robin Findley of Osgood; three stepdaughters, Michelle Finney and Micki Walters, both of Chillicothe, and Angela Duhl of Jackson, Ohio; her father and stepmother, Melvin and Mary McCafferty of Sellersburg; two brothers, Scott McCafferty of Louisville and Mark McCafferty of New Albany; a sister, Jan Schmelz of Noblesville, and 12 grandchildren.
Visitation: Thursday, Jan. 19, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Home on Market Street in New Albany.
Funeral: Friday, Jan. 20, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Corydon.
