Donald Pierson, 79, Sellersburg, died at 2:50 p.m. Friday, Jan. 6, 2006, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services in New Albany.
A native of Central Barren, he was the son of the late Esco and Lula Pierson.
He was an employee of TransWord Airlines for 33 years, an Army veteran of World War II, and a member of United Methodist Church in Central Barren and Georgetown Community Church of God.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, the former Mary Catherine Fouts.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Ann Pierson; a daughter, Donna Young of Mooresville; two stepdaughters, Rakin Harl of Sarasota, Fla., and Leanna Sturgeon of Floyds Knobs; a stepson, Daniel Sturgeon of New Albany; a brother, Calvin Pierson of Central Barren; two grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren, and a step-great-grandchild.
Visitation: Wednesday, Jan. 11, after 9 a.m. at Love Funeral Home in Palmyra.
Funeral: Wednesday, Jan. 11, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in Central Barren Cemetery.
