David Lawrance (Larry) Deckard, 57, New Albany, died Friday, Jan. 6, 2006, at his home.
He retired from L&N Railroad and was a disabled veteran, having been wounded in Vietnam. He was a member of VFW Post 3281, Paralyzed Veterans and St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Bradford.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Mary Elizabeth Deckard, and two half-brothers, James Francis and Charles Patrick Moore.
Survivors include a daughter, Tammy Thomas of New Albany; two brothers, Virgil L. Deckard of Greenville and John Stephen Deckard of Sellersburg; a sister, Katherine Potter of Louisville; two half-sisters, Alma Louise Campbell and Wilma Rose Carrithers, both of Terre Haute; a granddaughter, and two stepgrandchildren.
Funeral: Monday, Jan. 9, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery.
Arrangements: Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Home on Market Street in New Albany.
