Miller says ‘see you’ to IU, now she’ll enroll at BU

Indiana All-Star and North Harrison graduate Tara Miller has left the IU women’s basketball program for personal reasons, it was announced earlier this month.
Miller, who suffered a torn ACL early in her final high school season, saw action in only one game for the Hoosiers, playing three minutes against Youngstown State. Unfortunately for Miller, that one game will probably qualify as a full year of college eligibility for the former North Harrison standout.
The 5-10 guard is in the process of transferring to Butler University. The move will become official at the start of the next semester.
‘We respect Tara’s wishes,’ IU coach Sharon Versyp said on the team’s web site. ‘She is a player who has potential and we wish her the best of luck in the future.’
Among Miller’s future teammates at Butler will be 2003 Indiana All-Star Jackie Closser and former Mid-Southern Conference player Candace Bain (Clarksville).
Miller was forced to sit out almost all of her senior year due to a torn ACL, but still managed to rehabilitate in time to make the Indiana All-Star Team. She was a Junior All-Star in 2004.
Butler University, which plays its games at historic Hinkle Fieldhouse, competes in NCAA Division I and is a member of the Horizon League with Chicago, Cleveland State, Detroit, Loyola, Green Bay, Milwaukee, Wright State and Youngstown State.
