Louie G. Stein
Louie Gale Stein, 88, Sellersburg, died Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2005, at his home.
A native of Kent, he was a member of American Legion Post 204 in Sellersburg, Veterans of Foreign Wars in New Albany, a 50-year member of Buckner Masonic Lodge F&AM and a member of Sellersburg Eastern Star.
He retired from the U.S. Air Force as a lieutenant colonel and National Weather Service, both after 20 years.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, the former Lillian Kahl.
Survivors include his wife of 23 years, the former Mary Belle Dean; a son, Darrell Stein of Henryville; four daughters, Debbie Quinn of Leitchfield, Minn., Pam Wilson of Evansville, Cheryl Ritchie of Fishers and Lisa Jardena of Indianapolis; four stepdaughters, Mary Brown of Camden, Ohio, and Nyoka Emily, Rita Sue Archer and Tressia Dyer, all of Corydon; two stepsons, Daniel Dean of Whitehouse, N.J., and Marty Dean of Chicago; a brother, Roy Dale Stein of Seymour; two sisters, Sally Bowyer of Hanover and Mary Helen Bowyer of Jeffersonville; 19 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Thursday, Nov. 17, from 2 to 8 p.m. at Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg.
Funeral: Friday, Nov. 18, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with burial in Sellersburg Cemetery.
The family suggests memorial gifts to Vista Care Hospice.
