James E. House

James Elmer House, 89, English, formerly of Corydon, died Sunday, Nov. 13, 2005, at his home.
A native of Crawford County, born Aug. 14, 1916, he was the son of the late Otto Emery and Anna Zahnd House.
He was a retired farmer, construction worker and horse farrier. He was a member of Corner Stone Chapel Church in Grantsburg and Labor Union Local 795 in New Albany.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, the former Alice Collins; a son, Harry E. House, and three brothers, Franklin, Robert and Otto E. Jr. House.
Survivors include his wife, the former Othella Sturgeon; two sons, James K. House of Eckerty and Harold R. House of English; three stepdaughters, Mary Ridge of Georgetown, Angela Armstrong of Milltown and Debbie Urbanz of Woodbine, N.J.; four stepsons, Thomas Armstrong of Portersville, and James, Carl and Paul Armstrong, all of English; a brother, Melvin House of English; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Wednesday, Nov. 16, after 9 a.m. at Denbo Funeral Home in English.
Funeral: Wednesday, Nov. 16, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in Old Union Cemetery near Sulphur. Officiant: Pastor Kevin Stilwell.
