Doris E. Singleton, 77, New Amsterdam, died Friday, Oct. 28, 2005, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville.
A native of Harrison County, born March 18, 1928, she was the daughter of the late William D. and Mary Shireman Cotner.
She was employed as a caregiver and was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church near Mauckport.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Lee Singleton, and a son, Kevin Dee Singleton.
Survivors include four sons, Kelly Singleton of English, Baron Singleton of Corydon, Joshua Singleton of Central and Justin Singleton of Savannah, Ga.; two daughters, Linda Byrd of Mauckport and Sara Chinn of Central; two brothers, Clayton Cotner of Mauckport and Herman Cotner of Corydon; two sisters, Virgie Tolley and Elnora Boze, both of Chillicothe, Ill.; 11 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral: Tuesday, Nov. 1, at Wesley Chapel UMC with burial in Wesley Chapel Cemetery.
Officiant: The Rev. Gilbert Duley.
Pallbearers: Gary Valentine, Mike Stevens, John Salings, Lonnie Bottles, Bob Enlow and Ron Sandage.
The family suggests memorial gifts to the American Heart Association.
