Duo named as Heisman honorees, will attend Colts game
Wendy’s International announced recently that Allison Horton of Lanesville and Sarah Pease of South Central were among 20 athletes from across the state named as 2005 Indiana High School Heisman honorees.
They will be recognized at a banquet on Nov. 13 at the RCA Dome in Indianapolis from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by a pregame award ceremony during the Colts-Texans football game.
Pease has been a state qualifier in both track and cross country and is a sectional and regional champion with the Lady Rebels’ basketball team.
Horton is an ace pitcher for Lanesville’s softball team and plays in the post for the basketball team. She led the Lady Eagles softballers to the school’s first state final last season.
The Wendy’s High School Heisman program was launched in 1994. Each fall the program recognizes the nation’s most esteemed high school senior men and women for excellence in academics, community service and athletics. It was created through a partnership between Wendy’s and the Heisman Memorial Trust.
