Rosamond O’Bannon Sample dies at 77

Rosamond O’Bannon Sample, 77, Corydon, died at 1 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 26, in the Hospice Unit at Norton Hospital in Louisville.
Born Nov. 29, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Robert P. and Faith Dropsey O’Bannon. She was an artist.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, and was a sister of the late Indiana Gov. Frank O’Bannon. She is survived by a sister, Jane O’Bannon Parker of Plainfield; three daughters, Leah Porter of Corydon, Lisabeth Sample of Asheville, N.C., and Susannah Hebert of Indianapolis, and four grandchildren.
A retrospective of Sample’s artwork will be held at the Leora Brown School in Corydon on Sunday, Oct. 30, and Monday, Oct. 31, from 2 to 6 p.m. each day.
A Celebration of Life with food, drink, art, music and remembrance will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday.
Family, friends and acquaintances are invited to pay their respects to Sample’s lifework and celebrate with the family.
