Geneva P. Burke

Geneva P. (Jeannie) Burke, 85, Seymour, died Monday, Oct. 3, 2005, at 12:58 p.m. at Schneck Medical Center.
A native of Depauw, born Feb. 5, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Lewis and Luella Feltner Wetzel.
She was employed in the grocery business for 50 years having worked 36 years at Jays Market in Seymour. She was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Donald L. Burke Jr.; three brothers, Russell, Waldo and Dale Wetzel; four sisters, Rozena Greeson, Berneice Lyons, Myrtle McAdams and Anna Shirley, and a granddaughter.
Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Donald L. Burke; a daughter, Janet Scott; three sisters, Kate Dicus of Indianapolis, Helen Leszcynski of New York and Bonnie Smith of Ramsey; four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Thursday, Oct. 6, from 4 to 8 p.m. with a rosary service at 7:30 p.m. at Voss & Sons Funeral Home in Seymour, and Friday, Oct. 7, after 9 a.m. at St. Ambrose Catholic Church.
A Mass will be Friday, Oct. 7, at 10 a.m. at the church with burial in the church cemetery.
Officiant: Father Todd Goodson.
The family suggests memorial gifts to the church, Riley Children’s Hospital or donor’s choice.
