IHSAA announces pairings for soccer, tennis sectionals
Pairings for girls and boys soccer and boys tennis sectionals were announced this week by the Indiana High School Athletic Association.
In the girls soccer Sectional 28 at Jeffersonville High School, action begins on Oct. 11 at 6 p.m. as Floyd Central battles Corydon Central. That match will be followed by a scrum between Jeffersonville and North Harrison.
On Oct. 13, Tuesday’s winners play at 6 p.m., followed by the bye match of New Albany and Providence.
The championship is slated for Oct. 15 at 3 p.m.
In boys soccer at Sectional 30 at Floyd Central, the tourney gets underway on Oct. 10 at 6 p.m. as the host school takes on Restoration Christian.
On Oct. 12, four games will be played on the two fields at Floyd Central at 6 and 8 p.m. Those matches are Christian Academy-Providence (Match 2), Charlestown-Jeffersonville (Match 3), New Albany-Corydon Central (Match 4) and North Harrison against the winner of Match 1 (Match 5).
Play continues on Oct. 15 at 10 a.m. with the winners of Match 2 and 3, followed by the victors of Match 4 and 5.
The championship is at 7 p.m.
Boys tennis sectionals get underway beginning today at Floyd Central.
The Highlanders open tourney play against Eastern at 5 p.m.
North Harrison battles Salem tomorrow (Thursday) at 6 p.m., with Crawford County playing the winner of Match 1 at 5 p.m.
The Sectional 19 final is Friday at a time to be announced.
New Albany’s Sectional 42 tips off tomorrow (Thursday) at 4 p.m. as New Albany plays South Central and Lanesville takes on Corydon Central.
The final is Friday at 4 p.m., with a rain date slated for Saturday at 10 a.m.
Pairings for volleyball and football are just around the corner. The draw for football will be this Sunday at 6 p.m. while volleyball’s draw will be held Oct. 10 at 9 a.m.
