Carl E. Lofton
Carl Edward Lofton, 86, formerly of Harrison County, died Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2005, at the Indiana Masonic Home in Franklin, where he was a resident.
A native of Fredericksburg, born July 16, 1919, he was the son of the late William and Lottie Marshall Lofton.
He was an Army veteran, a former employee of the Quarter Master Depot in Jeffersonville, a retired barber and a member of Blue River Masonic Lodge 456, where he achieved the 32nd degree.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Lofton, and two sisters, Mary and Lorraine.
Survivors include two daughters, Beverly Alford of Louisville and Carolyn Ayres of New Albany; a brother, W. Keith Lofton of Franklin, and a granddaughter.
Graveside service: Tuesday, Sept. 6, at 2 p.m. (slow time) at Horner’s Chapel Cemetery near Fredericksburg. Arrangements: Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home in Franklin.
