Charles A. Merk

Charles A. Merk, 89, Laconia, died Sunday, July 3, 2005, at Harrison County Hospital in Corydon.
A native of Harrison County, born June 12, 1916, he was the son of the late Augustus and Lena O’Bryan Merk.
He was a retired farmer and member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Buena Vista.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, the former Roma Lea Funkhouser; a son, Gary Martin Merk; five brothers, Bernard, George, Ed, Merlin and Joe Merk, and a sister, Mary Greenwell.
Survivors include two daughters, Rose Ann Woertz of Elizabeth and Joanie Kaiser of Laconia; a brother, Clarence Merk of Laconia; a sister, Alma McCullum of New Albany, and two grandsons.
Visitation: Wednesday, July 6, after 8 a.m. at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral Mass: Wednesday, July 6, at 11 a.m. at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church in New Middletown with burial in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers: Rich, Joe, John and Jack Merk, Tom Kingsley and Jimmy Withers.
